One of the more common questions before ordering is simply: what does setup actually involve? Most families are up and running in under 15 minutes, with no technical knowledge required. Here's exactly what that looks like, step by step.

1

Unbox and power on

Home orders include setup assistance, so this step is guided rather than left to a manual. The device is designed to be usable straight out of the box — no separate configuration hardware or accessories required.

2

Load medication compartments

MedpeR® supports up to 9 compartments, 8 of which can be mapped to a specific medication and dose schedule. Compartments are sized for limited dexterity — no fiddly small openings — and Guided Refill Mode locks any compartment not currently being loaded, so it's not possible to accidentally fill the wrong slot mid-setup.

3

Set the dose schedule through the companion app

Dose times and compartment assignments are configured once through the companion app — by a caregiver, not necessarily the person taking the medication. Each prescription maps to its own compartment, so the schedule only needs to be entered once and can be prepared days in advance.

4

Link caregivers

Multiple caregivers can link to a single device — useful when responsibility is shared between siblings, a spouse, and a home nurse. Every linked caregiver receives the same missed-dose notifications, so coverage doesn't depend on one person remembering to check.

5

First dose alert

At the scheduled dose time, MedpeR® sounds an audible alert designed to be clearly noticeable, even for patients with mild hearing loss. Opening the correct compartment is timestamped and confirmed automatically — no button to press, no app to check on the patient's side.

If a dose isn't opened within the alert window, it's classified as missed and every linked caregiver is notified instantly. If it stays missed beyond a configurable threshold, an escalation alert follows — so responsibility never quietly falls through the cracks between caregivers.

What happens after setup

Once configured, day-to-day use doesn't require returning to the app unless the schedule changes — refills follow the same Guided Refill Mode from step 2, and dose history syncs automatically whenever the device is connected, staying available offline if connectivity briefly drops.
